Nine special nights showcasing eight new movies before their theatrical release along with one classic Johnny Mercer scored film. Each screening will also include a Q&A immediately following the film with actors and filmmakers hosted by film critic Pete Hammond. The fourth film screened was "50/50," a comedy centered on one young adult's struggle fighting a rare breed of cancer. Chris Evans Talks - Puncture
Over the course of fall KCET will be hosting a Cinema Series at the Aero Theatre in Santa Monica, California. Gavin O'Connor Talks - Warrior
Over the course of fall KCET will be hosting a Cinema Series at the Aero Theatre in Santa Monica, California. Nine special nights showcasing eight new movies before their theatrical release along with one classic Johnny Mercer scored film. Tate Taylor Talks - The Help
Over the course of summer KCET has been hosting a Cinema Series at the Aero Theatre in Santa Monica, California. Nine special nights showcasing eight new movies before their theatrical release along with one classic Johnny Mercer scored film. Each screening will also include a Q&A immediately following the film with actors and filmmakers hosted by film critic Pete Hammond. The eighth film screened was "The Help" written and directed by Tate Taylor. "The Help" was adapted from the New York Times Bestselling novel of the same name and tells the story of three women who become unlikely friends in Mississippi during segregation of the 1960s. It is a touching and universal film about the sparks of change during a turbulent racial time in American history. Participant Media Talks - Page One: Inside the New York Times
Over the course of the summer KCET is hosting a Cinema Series at the Aero Theatre in Santa Monica, California. Nine special nights showcasing eight new movies before their theatrical release along with one classic Johnny Mercer scored film. Each screening will also include a Q&A immediately following the film with actors and filmmakers hosted by film critic Pete Hammond. The fourth film of the series screened was a documentary called "Page One: Inside the New York Times" directed by Andrew Rossi. The documentary takes a stirring look at the changing face of newspapers with media, online blogging and aggregate journalism chipping away at the age old institutions of reporting.
